Driving Directions
The directions below include helpful notes for approaching Bennington and avoiding the Route 279 bypass.
Travel time: approximately 2 minutes
- From downtown Bennington, travel west on VT Route 9 toward New York.
- Pass the Bennington Museum on your left and continue about 1.3 miles.
- The inn will be on the right, shortly after passing the First Congregational Church in Old Bennington.
After entering the parking lot, drive to the end of the lot and follow the driveway around to the back of the inn through the gates and park. Enter through the red door.
Travel time: approximately 3 hours from the Tappan Zee Bridge
- Take the New York Thruway (I-87) North.
- Near Albany, take Exit 23 to I-787 North.
- Follow I-787 North about 10 miles.
- Take Exit 9 for Route 7 East toward Troy / Bennington.
- Follow Route 7 East about 30 miles to the Vermont border.
- Important: After passing the intersections of NY Route 22 South and Route 22 North, continue about 2 miles and turn right at the second blinking yellow light to remain on Route 7 toward Bennington. Continuing straight will take you onto the Route 279 bypass.
- Route 7 becomes VT Route 9 East.
- The inn is 3.5 miles on the left, just before downtown Bennington.
After entering the parking lot, drive to the end of the lot and follow the driveway around to the back of the inn through the gates and park. Enter through the red door.
Travel time: approximately 3 hours
- Take the Taconic Parkway North.
- At the end of the parkway, take NY Route 295 to NY Route 22.
- Take NY Route 22 North to NY Route 7.
- Follow Route 7 East about 3 miles to the Vermont border.
- Important: After passing the intersections of NY Route 22 South and Route 22 North, continue about 2 miles and turn right at the second blinking yellow light to remain on Route 7 toward Bennington. Continuing straight will take you onto the Route 279 bypass.
- Route 7 becomes VT Route 9 East.
- The inn is 3.5 miles on the left, just before downtown Bennington.

- Exit onto MA Route 2 West toward North Adams / Williamstown.
- In Williamstown, take US-7 North toward Bennington.
- In downtown Bennington, turn left onto VT Route 9 West.
- Continue about 1.3 miles.
- The inn will be on the right, shortly after passing the First Congregational Church in Old Bennington.
After entering the parking lot, drive to the end of the lot and follow the driveway around to the back of the inn through the gates and park. Enter through the red door.
Travel time: approximately 3¼ hours
- Take MA Route 2 West.
- Take I-91 South briefly, then reconnect with MA Route 2 West.
- Continue on Route 2 West toward North Adams / Williamstown.
- In Williamstown, take US-7 North toward Bennington.
- In downtown Bennington, turn left onto VT Route 9 West.
- Continue about 1.3 miles.
- The inn will be on the right, shortly after passing the First Congregational Church in Old Bennington.
After entering the parking lot, drive to the end of the lot and follow the driveway around to the back of the inn through the gates and park. Enter through the red door.

- Take Route 7 East toward Troy / Bennington.
- Follow Route 7 about 30 miles to the Vermont border.
- Important: After passing the intersections of NY Route 22 South and Route 22 North, continue about 2 miles and turn right at the second blinking yellow light to remain on Route 7 toward Bennington. Continuing straight will take you onto the Route 279 bypass.
- Route 7 becomes VT Route 9 East.
