However, this fall her works take on a new twist as they are exhibited next to the works of American Modern greats such as Joseph Cornell, Helen Frankenthaler and Andy Warhol. Grandma Moses Exhibits

Anna Mary Robertson, AKA “Grandma Moses,” is a 20th-century artist who painted rural life scenes. Although she didn’t begin painting until she was in her 70s, she rapidly became an iconic American artist. The museum currently features three different Grandma Moses exhibits.

The Original

The original Grandma Moses exhibit is a permanent display at the Bennington Museum and features the largest public collection of Grandma Moses pieces. She would occasionally paint scenes of Bennington, one of which includes this very museum.

Grandma Moses: American Modern

The American Modern exhibit runs through November 5th. This display features her paintings side-by-side with works by other artists, including Fernand Léger, Joseph Cornell, Helen Frankenthaler, Andy Warhol, Edward Hicks, and Joseph Pickett. The exhibit allows you to experience a beautiful journey through these artists’ styles and their masterpieces.

Grandma Moses Schoolhouse

The Grandma Moses Schoolhouse is an interactive family center that discovers themes in her work. For children, there are many activities including dress-up, antique toys, needlecraft, and more!
